Small Groups:  Living the Christian Life is a Team Sport

Most men want to live lives that are balanced physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. The indicator of whether or not we are being successful is transformed lives. The Barna organization asked thousands of Christians in a national survey what was their single most important goal in life. Not one person said it was to be a committed follower of Jesus Christ. Men in the church want to be fully devoted followers of Christ. One way to do this is through small groups.

Living the Christian life isn't difficult --- it is impossible! Aside from God's amazing grace and the fellowship of other men, it is easy to fall short of the spiritual goals we set for ourselves. In small groups we set ourselves up for success.

Men have many reasons for joining small groups. Often it is just because they want to mature in Christ. Sometimes men plug into small groups because they find living the Christian life alone very difficult. From time to time, men join small groups because they are facing struggles from within or without. No matter a man's reason, it is important that a man be part of a small group if he wants to grow spiritually.

In small groups men experience true fellowship. They are able to share their joys, failures, frustrations, and pain. Men are challenged and held accountable to becoming a maturing disciple of Christ. The Holy Spirit does something in the lives of men involved in small groups that is profound, powerful and important as men enter into more intimate relationships with God and each other. If you are interested in joining a small group, give us a call at the Gathering of Men and we will help you find a group that works into your schedule.
